If you enjoyed bike biathlon this summer, "real" (ski) biathlon is gearing up for the season. Below is a message from Biathlon Yukon:
We'll be cranking up for another season of "real" biathlon, officially starting October 16 from 5:30-7:30. We will be holding an "intro" course on the 16th and 23rd for anyone who needs a refresher in rifle handling and range procedures. I just wanted to let you know so you can pass it on to your members to see if anyone is interested.
As we did for bike biathlon, you must sign up on the zone4 website,https://zone4.ca/reg.asp?id=4693 Signup as a "recreational" ($150) or higher member, please. If you are sure you are going to join, please sign up sooner rather than later as that will allow us to determine how many "newbies" we can allow to join.
Renting a club rifle will cost an additional $50 for the season. For those who do not have their PAL, they will likely need to purchase ammo from the club. If so, we'd like people to buy it by the "brick" rather than by the box as it's easier for us to manage. A brick contains 10 boxes and costs $70 and should last you 5-10 sessions.
Any questions, just let me know. We hope to see you out there! Grant Redfern (cowleycreek@hotmail.com)
