Happy spring CMBC! Check out our news for the season:
2025 CMBC MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
Renewing your CMBC membership is the easiest way to support mountain biking in Whitehorse, and you get some great deals with it too! All 2024 memberships expired on January 1, 2025, so if you haven’t renewed it yet, please do!
Your CMBC membership provides access to skills clinics, Dirt/Snow girls rides, 10% discounts at Icycle and Cadence, and 6 beer for the price of 4 at Yukon Brewing.
Your memberships support the club, its board and volunteers, who spend tireless hours grooming fatbiking trails and maintaining mountain biking trails.
SPRING TRAIL TRANSITIONS
Volunteer winter trail maintenance is now finished for the 24/25 winter season. Winter use trail conditions may be marginal at best for the next week or two. If you are going for a fat bike ride, the best conditions will be in the mornings or during periods of colder weather. Stick to trails in the trees and avoid sunny areas for the best results.
During our annual spring trail transition, please be mindful of changing trail conditions before heading out on your mountain bike. Most trails will not be ready until the overnight temperatures consistently stay above 0. Riding while the ground is thawing can risk damage to the trail surface, which is hard to fix with our soil conditions.
Please check and update Trailforks trail reports to keep tabs on when trail conditions may improve. If you are out for a ride and encounter sections of standing water, thawing snow, or mud, please hop off your bike and walk around. This will keep your bike clean and more importantly, protect the quality of our local trails!
WELCOME YOUR NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS
At the AGM in November, you elected a full board and a multi-tool! Your board has been busy all winter learning the ins and outs of their new roles, building a new website (thanks Martin!) and have a lot of momentum on some new ideas for CMBC.
TRAIL NIGHTS
We’ve got 10 trail days planned for 2025 starting on June 2nd. Come on out and help maintain and improve our Whitehorse trail network.
SPRING SKILLS CLINICS
Christine Prescott is offering spring skills clinics to help you start the season off strong! Registration opens on April 22, 2025.
CMBC SPRING SOCIAL & EVENT PLANNING
Before you dust off your mountain bike and hit the dirt trails, come tell us your biking ideas and hear what we have in store for 2025! Join us at our Spring Social & Event Planning event on April 30th, 6-8PM at Yukon Brewing.
Have an event idea you’ve been sitting on for years, but need some help to get it started? Whether you just want to plant a seed for a new idea or you want to champion a new project, it’s time to crawl out from winter hibernation, grab a cold one from our long standing community sponsor Yukon Brewing, and come meet our board and volunteers.
While you’re there, test out the Yukon Brewing membership discount and bring a few cans home for later!
Pizza will be served by sponsor Panoga.
